Obambi got his "stimulus" package through the House, but without a single GOP vote. Considering that most of the stimulus isn’t stimulus, many of the "tax cuts" don’t go to taxpayers, and no earmarks were added because they were already built in, this was a laudable thing.
Unfortunately, the bill will now go to the Senate, where RINOs will sell out for a few crumbs, delivering back to the House a bill which timid Republicans there will embrace. Having been burned on the bailout, those Republicans should be few in number. There’s a reasonable chance that this mess will be regarded as a Dem thing.
By the way, if bipartisanship is a virtue, and the opposition to the bill was bipartisan while the support for it was not, isn’t the bill by definition a bad thing?
