Obambi has been agonizing to determine an Afghanistan strategy as perfect as he is. To simply grant McChrystal’s request would suggest that someone else knows more about something than The One does. Can’t have that. Any significant deviation in strategy or troop numbers might lead to defeat. Can’t have that either.
So we will twiddle our thumbs while he makes cosmetic changes having more to do with asserting his authority than winning the war.
